Harvey Ball and Theo Thomas have each won a fully funded season racing with X-Kart in The Kart Championship, after the team's scholarship assessment at Whilton Mill.
More than 50 drivers took part in the second stage, which judged each driver on a media assessment, an interview, a fitness test and pace in rental karts. The top 12 then had a day of coaching workshops and a question and answer session with current X-Kart drivers, before a final assessment in the team's own karts.
Ball took the main X-Kart Scholarship after scoring well across every part of the process; the judges noted his pace and how quickly he adapted to the Junior Rotax kart. He said the fitness test, 16 minutes of non stop work, was the hardest part of the day.
Thomas was the top scoring driver from the X-Kart Academy and won the Academy Scholarship, making him the first Academy driver to move straight into a fully funded TKC season.
