1. About these terms

Kart Directory (kartdirectory.co.uk) is run by Jordan Montgomery in the United Kingdom. "We" and "us" means Kart Directory; "you" means anyone using the site. How we handle personal details is covered in our privacy notice, which forms part of these terms.

We may update these terms from time to time. The date above shows when they last changed, and the version on this page is the one that applies.

2. The information on the site

Kart Directory brings together information about UK kart circuits, clubs, championships, classes, race dates, prices, lap records and more, from clubs' and governing bodies' own published sources. We work hard to keep it right, but it can change without notice and we can't guarantee it is complete, accurate or up to date.

Always check with the club or organiser before you travel, enter an event or pay for anything: dates, prices, licence status and entry rules are theirs to set.
Circuit maps and track lengths are for general interest, not for navigation or safety decisions.
Weather is a forecast. It is supplied by Pitwall Weather and Open-Meteo and can be wrong. Don't rely on it for safety: follow the organiser's and the circuit's instructions on the day.
Class and licence information is a summary. The Motorsport UK Yearbook and each series' regulations are the rules that count.

3. Listing a team or posting on a board

Listing a team and posting on the mechanic, officials and marshals boards are free. You need to be 18 or over, or have a parent's or guardian's permission. When you send a listing, a post, a logo or a change, you confirm that:

it is accurate, and it is yours to share, or you have permission to share it;
you have the right to use any logo, name or image you upload, and you let us show it on the site and in our emails for as long as your listing is up;
it isn't offensive, misleading, discriminatory or unlawful, and doesn't advertise anything unrelated to karting;
any DBS check, licence or grade you declare is true and current.

We check listings before they go live. We may decline, edit for length or clarity, or remove any listing or post at any time, with or without a reason. Members we mark as trusted can publish without waiting for a check; we can withdraw that at any time. You can take your listing down yourself at any time from your account or with the link in our emails.

4. The mechanic, officials and marshals boards

The boards put people in touch; they aren't an agency. Kart Directory does not vet mechanics, officials, marshals, drivers, teams or clubs, and does not check DBS certificates, licences or grades. Any arrangement you make, including pay, expenses, insurance, appointments and safety, is between you and the other person or club, and we are not a party to it. Clubs remain responsible for appointing officials and marshals under Motorsport UK's rules.

When you offer to marshal at a meeting, we send your details to the contact that club publishes. We can't guarantee the club will reply or that the meeting will go ahead: check with the club.

If someone will be working with drivers under 18, ask to see their DBS certificate before the event and follow your club's and Motorsport UK's safeguarding guidance.

5. Messages

You can message a team or mechanic through the site; we email your name, email address and message to them so they can reply to you directly. We don't check who sends messages. Don't use messages to send spam, advertising, abuse or anything unlawful. We may block messages from anyone who misuses them.

6. Accounts

Your account is the email address on your listing; you sign in with a one-time link we send to it. Keep access to that email address secure, as anyone who can read it can sign in. Tell us straight away at hello@kartdirectory.co.uk if you think someone else has.

7. Using the site fairly

Please don't:

send spam or automated submissions, or try to get round the site's spam checks;
copy the directory in bulk, or scrape it, to build a competing service;
collect other people's contact details from the site to contact them for marketing;
try to break, overload or gain unauthorised access to the site or its accounts;
pretend to be someone else, or a team or club you don't represent.

8. Who owns what

The site's design, text and the way the directory is put together belong to Kart Directory. You're welcome to link to any page and to share information for your own, non-commercial use.

Some content belongs to others and is used under their licences: track geometry © OpenStreetMap contributors (Open Database Licence); terrain from Environment Agency, Welsh Government and Scottish Government LIDAR (Open Government Licence v3.0); weather from Pitwall Weather, powered by Green Turtle Media, with forecasts from Open-Meteo. Club, series and team names and logos belong to their owners.

9. Links to other websites

We link to clubs, circuits, series, teams, Motorsport UK, ABKC, Google Maps and others. We don't control those sites and aren't responsible for their content, availability or how they use your information.

10. Our responsibility to you

The site is provided free and "as is". We don't promise it will always be available or free of errors, and we may change or withdraw any part of it.

As far as the law allows, we are not responsible for any loss or damage from relying on information on the site, from arrangements you make with teams, mechanics or other users, or from other websites we link to. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or anything else that cannot be limited under the law of England and Wales. Your legal rights as a consumer are not affected.

11. The law that applies

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you can also bring proceedings in your local courts.
